We’re starting off 2018 big, doing some radio airplay right in the heart of Downtown Knoxville. We’ve got a lot planned for this year, and this is just a stepping stone, but we’d love to see you come out or listen on the airwaves. Details below:

The WDVX Blue Plate Special is a live performance, Monday through Saturday at noon…and it’s FREE! It all happens at the Knoxville Visitors Center on the corner of Gay Street and Summit Hill Drive. The WDVX Blue Plate Special is broadcast and webcast around the world. Can’t make it down for a show? Listen live on-line. If you’re in town, bring your lunch and join us for real, live music in beautiful downtown Knoxville TN.

The WDVX “Blue Plate Special” program was created in 1997, the same year WDVX started broadcasting as a community public radio station from a 14-foot camper studio in Norris, TN. The noontime show included themed broadcasts or occasional live performances from visiting artists. In late summer of 2004, WDVX brought back Knoxville’s rich tradition of mid-day live radio shows by producing the Blue Plate Special in front of a live studio audience from its new home in the Knoxville Visitors Center, located at 301 South Gay Street. The WDVX Blue Plate Special is now a signature of downtown Knoxville and East Tennessee, and was recognized as the 2006 Knoxville Area Museum/Attraction of the Year. From blues to bluegrass, country to celtic, folk to funk, rockabilly to hillbilly, local to international – it’s all part of the real, live music…on the WDVX Blue Plate Special.
